56 Psalm 65:2,3 Terminus

JMD Devotional 56 Psalm 65:2,3 Terminus

O You Who hear prayer, to You shall all flesh come. Iniquities and much varied guilt prevail against me; [yet] as for our transgressions, You forgive and purge them away [make atonement for them and cover them out of Your sight]!

God is our Alpha and Omega, our point of beginning and ending. He knew us before we drew our first breath, and He will greet us at our last. Iniquity and guilt is common to all humans, but there are two distinct camps. There are those who try to live independently of God, who are indifferent to spiritual things, who will die in their sins. And there are those who care deeply, who depend on God earnestly, who receive the salvation that is given by His hand. The essence of sin is to live independently of God; it is rebellion. It is inevitable for all flesh to return to God, but on what terms?

Dear God,
How grateful I am, that You have given me a heart to seek You as my vital need. Truly the poor in spirit (who recognize their great spiritual needs) are rich when that drives them to You! Praise God.
Amen
