55 Deuteronomy 30:6 Circumcised Heart

JMD Devotional 55 Deuteronomy 30:6 Circumcised
Heart

And the Lord your God will circumcise your hearts and
the hearts of your descendants, to love the Lord your
God with all your [mind and] heart and with all your
being, that you may live.

Circumcision cuts away all that is unnecessary so
nothing comes between you and God. In circumcision of
the Heart the blade is suffering and hardship. We
avoid it at all costs, but without pain and suffering
we will never reach spiritual maturity. Trials are
absolutely essential to our character development.
Just remember when you encounter the next
heart-wrenching experience that God is not necessarily
punishing you, but perfecting you, to make you fit for
eternity.

Dear God,
You are my Rabboni. More personal than having a Rabbi
living next door, you attend all of my life events,
major and minor, bestowing your blessing by your very
presence in my life. May nothing insulate my heart and
life from You. Be close, Lord.
Amen
