35 Isaiah 29:16,24 Contrary Clay

JMD Devotional 35 Isaiah 29:16,24 Contrary Clay

[Oh, your perversity!] You turn things upside down!
Shall the potter be considered of no more account than
the clay? Shall the thing that is made say of its
maker, He did not make me; or the thing that is formed
say of him who formed it, He has no understanding? ...
Those who err in spirit will come to understanding,
and those who murmur [discontentedly] will accept
instruction.

We are that perverse clay. In the light of our total
depravity, we can't even WANT healing without God
stepping in and giving us the desire and initiating
that change in us.

Dear God,
How I have erred in spirit and continue to. Woe to
hidden secrets, dark motives, perversity. I
desperately need You to continue to instill the 'want
to' change and the desire for healing and wholeness.
Help me to accept instruction, to come to understand,
to have a humble and teachable spirit. I praise and
worship You, who is singularly Holy, and willing to
impart that holy influence into my life.
Amen
